Weekend Racing Tips at Navan - Irish NH Tips
This Lope De Vega filly made an extremely taking debut at Leopardstown just 17 days ago when running out a ready winner of a maiden at the first attempt. She travelled like a real classy filly that day and put the race to bed in two strides with a potent turn of foot.
An English or Irish Oaks is the short-term goal, and this is the perfect opportunity for her to pick up a bit more experience and get a bit of black type for herself. She's a filly good enough to be competitive in Group 1s, I have no doubt about that, and she may well be good enough to win one. She rates a strong bet.
This son of Fastnet Rock made a very pleasing debut at the Curragh four weeks ago when finishing a good third behind two experienced sorts who have the race to themselves the whole way. He was the only one to make up any sort of ground on the front pair and he will have learned loads from that experience.
He will have no problem with the underfoot conditions and with natural progression he's sure to take a fair bit of beating from a plum draw in stall two.
This horse made a more than acceptable return to action last time at the Curragh when he finished sixth of 18 runners off a mark of 64 just four weeks ago. With that run now under his belt and being dropped 1lb by the handicapper, for what was a less than five length defeat, I think he's more than capable of making his presence felt here on what's just a 3lb higher mark than the mark he won off of at Limerick last May.
Billy Lee is booked to take the ride, ground won't be an issue, and he has a reasonable draw in stall 11. I expect him to go well at what will hopefully be a double figure price.
