The son of Elm Park made a very pleasing hurdles debut way back in December over two miles and three furlongs at Clonmel where to my eye at least all he did was stay. He screamed as being a horse who was a bit of a dosser and would always find more when asked. I was surprised to see him drop back to two miles for his next two starts as he shaped very much as a stayer to my eye from the beginning.

I'm very excited to see him stepping up in trip here to an extended two miles and six furlongs, and I think it will really bring the best out of him. I fully expect him to bounce right back to form trying this trip for the first time and think he will be incredibly hard to beat.

This daughter of Elusive Pimpernel ran a stormer on her most recent start when running Duke Of Leggagh very close at Naas in February. That horse has since gone and won again off a 7lb higher mark and got another 10lb penalty for that follow up win. Clearly, she bumped into an in form improving horse that day. While she did get an incredibly harsh 6lb penalty from the handicapper for that win, connections have decided to book Johnny Shinnick who claims a valuable 5lb.

She comes here for only her sixth lifetime start and she should have loads of improvement in her. Here's hoping she can put her best foot forward and has some luck. She won't be far away.

This inmate of John Joe Murphy has been an ultra-consistent individual throughout his career to date although he rarely wins, he has had more than his fair share of places. He has run in some very competitive races in his three starts over fences so far this season and this is his first venture into handicap company over the larger obstacles. An initial mark of 125 looks very workable to me and having ran over as short as two miles and one furlong last time at Leopardstown this near three-mile trip is much more his bag.

He’s been learning on the job as a chaser and I'm more than hopeful that he's ready to put those experiences to good use now back in handicap company. Hailing from the Murphy yard he's likely to be overpriced and I can certainly see him making the frame and if we are lucky, he might scoop the lot.
