This will be a proper test of this mare’s metal, but she's a mare I absolutely adore. She's a big imposing daughter of Walk In The Park who has a real touch of class. She has to give Spindleberry 10lbs here which will be no easy task, but Bioluminescence is such a good jumper of a fence, and the ground and trip won't be any inconvenience to her.
She's as talented a mare as there is over fences at the moment, and with experience, she can only get better. If she gets this done at the weights, and I believe she will do, then she will be a warm order for the Mares Chase at Cheltenham in March. Here's hoping she's as good as I believe she can be.
This daughter of Camelot has been an eyecatcher on all three of her hurdles starts to date, from her debut in Listowel to her second hurdles start at Cork, when in my opinion, she wasn't off a yard and the race was there for the taking if she wanted it.
She went to Down Royal on the back of that and would surely have won only for Mark Walsh going for a gap that wasn't there. A mark of 105 is an absolute gimme for her and if she wins this, she will be a certainty to get a run in the Boodles Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap at Cheltenham and will have a nice light weight. If she's ready to go first time back off a layoff, she will take a hell of a lot of beating.
This son of Mount Nelson made a very pleasing debut at Limerick a few weeks ago behind a smart horse by the name of Road Exile. He travelled well that day before making his challenge wide in the straight. He got tired late on that day, but it was a lovely debut with plenty to build on.
He will have improved a lot for that start, and I think it's noteworthy that he switches to hurdles now especially at this stage of the season. He's a horse with plenty of ability and any market support would be noteworthy. In the right set of circumstances there's every chance he will come in for plenty support, so is well worth monitoring in the betting. All that said, I'm expecting a big run and hopefully, if he builds on the promise of Limerick, he should go close.
