QPR chief Marti Cifuentes was full of praise for much maligned striker Zan Celar after the Slovenian ended his 19-game goal drought with an excellent double to down Cardiff in midweek. The 2-0 triumph – only Rangers’ second success of the season - lifted the R’s off the bottom of the Championship ahead of the weekend trip to Watford.

Cifuentes said: “These goals will hopefully increase his confidence and be the first of many. What we need to do is to provide him with more and more chances because we know that inside the box, he’s a very good player. It was an important win for us. We took our chances and showed the quality and efficiency we were missing in other games.”

Cifuentes fielded an unchanged XI following the 1-1 draw with Stoke, where QPR produced a much-improved display. The Spaniard must now decide to tinker with his team following a taxing week – Kenneth Paal, Lucas Anderson, Morgan Fox and Kieran Morgan are all options, though the Rangers’ squad remains blighted by injury.
