This Weekend’s Irish National Hunt Tips at Gowran Park and Curragh
This horse formerly raced in the Clipper Logistics colours until they held a dispersal sale at the end of last season. Henry De Bromhead was clearly keen to keep him in his care and found some keen owners to dish of the £235,000 required to acquire this Grade Two placed Novice Hurdler from last season.
He's a big scopey son of Walk In The Park and this looks a really nice opportunity to get his chasing career off to the perfect start. He should be very difficult to beat.
This is a really talented horse but he's just short of Grade One level. He's a free running exciting chaser who has his ideal track and trip and comes here in tip top form after recent wins at Cork and Auteuil both over hurdles.
He was a runaway winner of the Red Mills Chase over course and distance in February and if turning up in the same form here albeit in a better race for the grade he should take a hell of a lot of beating.
This horse has been falling in the handicap from a mark of 70 and arrives here off a mark of 62. Last season he absolutely bolted up off 58 under today's rider Wayne Hassett who gets on extremely well with the horse and is always an advantage having him on board in the apprentice races.
The track and the ground shouldn't be an issue with and at this point in the card it will be plenty testing. There were positive signs of a return to form on his penultimate start in Punchestown and I'm happy to keep the faith with him here.
