This Weekend’s Irish National Hunt Tips at Navan
An impressive winner last week over hurdles, this horse is in the form of his life and poised for another big run. He was just touched off on his last flat start when 2nd to Barrogstown Girl, who has been 3rd and won again since, and reopposes here. On these revised terms, he's a big scopey individual who's sure to appreciate the stiff test this track offers. He's sure to go very close.
Well backed on his penultimate start at the Curragh when going too fast early and fading late, he made up for that last time in Bellewstown when he blitzed his rivals from a very early stage and scooted clear at halfway and the race was over. Those in behind closed down late but were never getting to him and that might just have been a blessing in disguise as the handicapper couldn't be too harsh on him, but his dominance over his rivals that day was much greater than the winning margin suggests, and I believe he will be very hard to beat back at a track he's won at it the past.
This once raced son of Vadamos was thrown in at the deep end on debut at Killarney, where he took on some highly rated rivals, with the winner rated 100 and the other two rivals rated in the 90s. He finished 3rd of four that day, and having looked a convincing 3rd at one point, he just tied up a bit late on. With natural progression, and if even just race fitness and being more street wise as much as anything, he has to be a force to be reckoned with in here.
