This Weekend’s Irish National Hunt Tips At Navan
The selection has had three solid runs in maiden hurdles last season in behind some above average types like Inothewayurthinkin at Cork at Deep Cave at Leopardstown before being beaten less than five lengths when sent off as 6/4 favourite at Fairyhouse behind Buddy One now rated 152 and Harvard Guy now rated 142 who have won five handicaps between them since then.
He runs here off 114 and if Tom Dreaper has him ready to go first time up for the yard off a 399 day break he should be very very hard to beat.
Always a horse with a tall reputation he has fallen just short of Grade 1 calibre so far. That said he did seem to be a bit of a slow burner and has been upping his performances with age and experience. He's another coming back off a long layoff of 312 days but he has scope to improve again and being a fresh horse in here I'm willing to take a chance on him. His standout runs over fences running 2023 Mare Chase winner Impervious close in a Punchestown Grade 3 and a win over an ever consistent and improving mare Limerick Lace.
He could just be a class above these and with his main market rival Ash Tree Meadow only having a six-day turnaround from Naas the stars may just be aligning.
A winner on the flat off a mark of 70 and has three hurdles runs already under his belt. He was third on hurdles debut at Killarney when heavily supported against Grade 3 winner Nurburgring and while he was very disappointing on his second start, he put that well behind him when third again at Cork behind D'art D'art and Paggane who has won since.
A reproduction of either of those placed efforts should see him in the shake-up.
