Listowel – JET SETTING JIM

This big scopey son of Jet Away is a former bumper winner at Clonmel in September of 2023 after a few good runs in defeat at Galway and at this track at the harvest festival. He made a pleasing debut at Killarney a couple of weeks ago behind the experienced Park The Giant where he settled well and jumped nicely before fading late in the home straight to finish 3rd having initially looked like he was capable of a bug challenge but that was his first start in 228 days, and he was entitled to get a bit tired.

I expect he will have improved plenty for that run and with a drop back in trip here also likely to be in his favour he's more than capable of a big run!

NEXT BEST:

Tramore – CONTRAPPOSTO

This horse isn't a prolific winner by any means having won just once in 17 hurdles starts but he is a very consistent horse all the same having placed on four more occasions. His sole win came at Cheltenham in November 2022, and he showed a real sign of coming nice back to the boil last time when he was beaten under four lengths at Tipperary just two weeks ago.

A reproduction of that run at a track that should suit his style of racing and she is sure to go close again.

LONG SHOT:

Tramore – MERCURY MISSION

He's an eight-race maiden over hurdles but in that time, he has placed on four separate occasions including in a Listed Handicap Hurdle over the winter. He seems to handle all kinds of ground and the track here should really suit him.

He ran a stormer last time at Killarney when beaten just four lengths by Uthred and he races off the same mark here. He's more than capable of being competitive off this mark and I expect him to go very close.
