NAP:

Curragh – CURRAWOOD

Sat 20 July, 13:30

BET NOW

He made his debut over course and distance three weeks ago staying on well late in the day from off the pace under Billy Lee. The 5th and 6th from that race have won since. The yard have been quiet this season but I think this horse can buck a disappointing trend for their runners this season. With natural progression from his first to second start I can see him using his plum draw in stall 2 to his advantage and take the race by the scruff of the neck, he won't be for stopping.

NEXT BEST:

Curragh – WHITE CLOVER

BET NOW

This Joe Murphy inmate has two runs to her name already this season. The first of which was a course and distance maiden in April when she finished a close-up 6th on debut behind Zaynab beaten just over two lengths. She went from there to Leopardstown in May where she finished 3rd behind Igor Stravinsky and the 2nd Apricot Ice has won twice since. She comes here after a bit of a mid-season break and I think that will work in her favour. If she can step forward again, she won't be far away.

LONG SHOT:

Curragh – BIG GOSSEY

BET NOW

This horse is a multiple 6-furlong winner at the track. He always seems to save his best for the straight course here at the Curragh. He ran here over five furlongs last time when beaten just over three lengths. He has been dropped 2lbs for that run and Robert Whearty gets back on board taking another 5lbs off coupled with stepping back up in trip to what is much more like his optimum. He's now 2lbs lower than his last handicap win here last season and I think this has been the plan for a while. I strongly believe he has to go close and at about 16/1 he looks a cracking eachway bet.
