This Weekend’s Irish National Hunt Tips at Curragh
Last season this horse was a good winner of the Ballysax at Leopardstown before just being touched off in the Dante at York. He went from there onto the Derby at Epsom where he finished 3rd behind Auguste Robin on ground that would probably have been quick enough for him. He totally underperformed in the Irish Derby but put that performance behind him on Irish Champions weekend when he finished a close 4th beaten just a length and a half by Adelaide River again on the ground too quick for him.
Back on a testing surface and getting 3lbs off his main market rivals I suspect he will be ready to go and should take some beating. Fingers crossed for a big run.
She made her racecourse debut just 19 days ago on the opening day of the flat season over course and distance. She was slowly away that day and having got to 3rd briefly over a furlong out she just faded late and wasn't knocked about to finish 4th.
The 3rd from that race won at Cork last weekend and with race fitness and experience under her belt now and a tongue tie added for the first time she's open to plenty of improvement and I'm hoping for a big run!
He put together a string of good runs in maidens last season on all kinds of ground before getting his head in front on his second start in a handicap at Down Royal off a mark of 70. He comes here off just 3lbs higher with Billy Lee an eye-catching jockey booking. He's been kept busy over the winter over hurdles and after a short break should be ready to go here.
Hopefully, there will be some double figures about as I rate him as a cracking each-way bet who looks sure to run well.
