Peter Chapple-Hyam does well with limited ammunition these days, and his unexposed performer looks one to follow from an attractive handicap mark. He got off the mark at this track over a mile in May, showing a tenacious attitude up the hill to fend off a series of challengers on soft ground, and wasn’t seen to best effect upped to this one mile two furlong trip at Epsom last time out (flopped out the stalls and finished with running left in the tank despite hanging on the camber).

There is loads more improvement to come after just three career starts on the turf, and the first time booking of the excellent Billy Loughnane certainly increases confidence.

Harriet Bethell’s unexposed sprint handicapper had excuses for a lesser effort last time out at Doncaster when finishing fifth over six furlongs (restrained pulling hard early in a poor position/promising headway ended at the furlong pole), and this Beverley contest looks a marked drop down in class under Joanna Mason.

There should be plenty of improvement in the tank after just four runs for this yard (after a gelding operation and wind surgery), and a much more positive ride over this stiff five furlongs should suit ideally.

Dylan Cunha is beginning to make a real impact since arriving in the UK from South Africa (very successful there for many years), and his useful performer should find this a good deal easier than a listed contest at Ascot last time out. He has won two of his 10 career starts so far and was a huge eyecatcher first time out this season at listed level over seven furlongs at Haydock (first start for seven months and finished strongly for a closing fourth on the fast ground).

There have been valid excuses twice since, and this one mile two furlong trip back into handicap company should be ideal under Rhys Clutterbuck.
