Shay Given's Premier League Predictions

Things are seriously heating up in the Premier League as we move closer to the final third of the season and the table really starts to take shape.

Will Liverpool widen their lead at the summit or can the chasing pack take advantage of a stumble? And at the other end, can Southampton pick up a rare victory to keep their faint survival hopes alive? We've asked our brand ambassador, Shay Given to cast his eye over some of the biggest matches and let us know how he sees them playing out.

Here are Shay's four selections which when combined into one accumulator would return at odds of 14/1.

Shay's Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Nottingham Forest

Back a Bournemouth win

This is a really tough game to call because both teams are flying up towards the top of the table at the moment. That's a remarkable thing to be saying now well into January.

I think Forest have the most clean sheets and the second best away record in the division so Bournemouth will have to be at their best to win this one. But I'm just leaning towards the Cherries here, especially after how they played last weekend when they won in style at Newcastle.

Shay's Prediction: Man City 2-1 Chelsea

Sat 25 Jan, 17:30

21/20
Back a Man City win

This is fifth versus fourth in the league and a win for City would move them above Chelsea in the league. Their form has picked up of late, certainly in the Premier League and there are signs that they've turned the corner and are returning to somewhere closer to their expected level.

This won't be an easy game for them by any means but I think Pep's side will edge it and that Haaland will get himself back amongst the goals.

Shay's Prediction: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

Sun 26 Jan, 16:30

1/2
Back an Aston Villa win
BET NOW

A re-run of the FA Cup fixture a few weeks back that Aston Villa came out on top in. Villa's form of late has been a wee bit up and down but I think they'll have enough in this one because of the home advantage.

This is Graham Potter's first away game in charge of the Hammers in the Premier League and he's made an ok start. But this looks like a tough game for them against a Villa side who are chasing those Champions League places.

Shay's Prediction: Fulham 2-0 Man United

Sun 26 Jan, 19:00

23/20
Back a Fulham win
BET NOW

This game is a 7pm kick-off on Sunday night which is an odd time for a Premier League match but nothing really surprises you with scheduling these days!

I'm still not sure what to make of Manchester United at the moment. They've been so up and down and results have been erratic to say the least.

In contrast Fulham are doing well this season and they've made Craven Cottage a difficult place to go. So off the back of that, I'm going to go for a home win here.
