Shay Given's FA Cup Quarter Final Predictions
We asked CopyBet brand ambassador Shay Given, a winner of the FA Cup in 2011 with Manchester City, to share his predictions for the four fixtures this weekend. Here are his selections which when combined would return at odds of 21/1.
Both of these two sides have done brilliantly to get this far in the competition and making it to the final four would be massive for either team and their fans.
It's a very difficult game to call because Palace are in great form at the minute and their attacking players are really firing. But then Fulham have the home advantage and will be full of confidence having knocked Manchester United out in the last round.
I think this'll be a really entertaining game with lots of goals and I'm going to back Fulham to come out on top.
Brighton are seven games unbeaten coming into this one, so they are flying at the moment.
Nottingham Forest are obviously doing incredibly well themselves and sitting third in the Premier League they may have one eye on their midweek league game and keeping a few players fresh for that.
For that reason I am going to go for a home victory and Brighton to keep their great run going.
Shay's Prediction: Preston North End
0-3 Aston Villa
Sun 30 Mar, 13:30
Preston have had an incredible run in the competition this season and they are the last remaining football league team left in contention.
But if you're Aston Villa you will be looking at this tie and thinking it's a fantastic opportunity to get to the Semi Finals. The squad that Unai Emery has put together at Villa is a really strong one and with the addition of players like Marco Ascensio they have plenty of attacking options.
I think Villa will win this one fairly comfortably.
Manchester City will be the bookies favourites to win the competition when you look at the other teams left in contention. But an away tie to Bournemouth is not easy.
I know the Cherries haven't won now in five games but I think they've been playing some really good football and just not getting the results that they perhaps deserve.
It's a very difficult game to call and I'm going to go for a score draw in 90 minutes with Manchester City eventually triumphing in extra time.
