Shay Given's FA Cup Predictions
We've picked out four of the biggest ties of the round and asked our brand ambassador Shay Given to share his predictions. Check out his selections below and see if you agree with his 32/1 accumulator pick!
These two sides met last week in the Premier League and Wolves came out on top. But they were helped by the fact that Bournemouth had a man sent off and I am backing a different outcome when they go head to head in the FA Cup this weekend.
I fancy Bournemouth to do really well, not just this weekend, but in general. They've got a great chance of going a long way in this competition and I'm going to go quite heavy on Bournemouth here. I think they'll win this with a bit to spare.
I think Fulham have a great chance in this game. Obviously Manchester United are struggling in the Premier League and they were fortunate to get over the line against Ipswich in midweek. Patrick Dorgu was sent off in that game so he'll be missing for this one and I think they'll lose a bit of balance in the side as a result.
Fulham have been playing some really good stuff this season and they'll go to Old Trafford full of confidence. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they went through to the next round.
Another chance for Newcastle to potentially get their hands on some silverware and home advantage in this tie could be crucial. But I also think that the Magpies might have one eye on that Carabao Cup final which is coming up in a couple of weeks.
Brighton are an excellent side and they'll cause Newcastle plenty of problems, so I can see this being a really tight game and one that goes all the way to penalties. So I'm putting it down as a draw after 90 minutes.
It's difficult to look past Nottingham Forest in this one, especially with them being at home. Ipswich's priorities will understandably be their Premier League survival so I think this is a great opportunity for Forest to advance to the Quarter Finals.
With Nuno Espirito Santo's side doing so well in the league they can approach this game with confidence and under the lights in front of their home crowd I think they'll put on a good showing.
