Three hurdle runs have produced a Grade Three win, a Grade Two win and then a Grade One second, and that’s a standout out on form in this. I’m hoping this gelding can step forward again, only a four-year-old, but they are a half-brother to four winners. An easy Group Three and Two winner, he was only run down late on at the Punchestown Festival by Triumph Hurdle runner-up Kargese.
His yard is going great guns, and they were dominant here last season. He’s a worthy favourite.
I’m all in with the Gavin Crowell team, as the NAP and Next Best come from the yard. As mentioned with the NAP, he was all over this meeting last season and targeted these races to get on the board early doors. Although has a few pounds to find on ratings with Intense Approach, their stable is right out of form, and the others have won weak races.
The selection went close over the trio to be just denied last time out, and has only had two runs under rules, one win and that last time out second. He has potential for more for the in-form team.
The team are in red hot form at present, and this may be the time to catch Does He Know. He’s a multiple winner here and has won at this meeting a few times.
The horses from the Kim Bailey yard are always fit and ready to go first time out, and having won a Grade Two hurdle race here, fifth in the Ballymore behind Bob Olinger a few seasons back, and a Grade Three winner off this mark here over further, he can give the weight and a beating.
