Sure Touch has a fantastic strike rate and seems to be constantly improving. He ran a huge race last time over the Grand National fences in the Grand Sefton considering he didn’t seem to enjoy the fences there. Has had wind surgery since then, so possible an issue came to light and has had wind surgery twice before, winning the second start after both times.
They went up over 20lbs since last season ending up with a win in the ultra-competitive summer plate and is hugely overpriced here with conditions to suit.
Charlie Uberalles is very interesting in this based on his previous run here when third in a Grade Three handicap when still early on in his chase career. Running off 1lb higher here due to being 3lb out the handicap and much more experienced and largely consistent since.
Excuses on the lesser efforts which have come on bad ground, but they catch the eye off a feather weight on conditions that will suit.
Brucio tried something different last time when making the running after a break at Down Royal and that came after a 178-day break. Clearly will benefit from that now and has plenty of very useful form last season and was unlucky to be brought down when well fancied in a Grade Two at Kelso.
The yards other runner, Lily Du Berlais is sure to be well fancied but based on the run at Kelso at the end of last season Brucio is handicapped to go close with that one.
