Racing Lee's St Leger Day Tips
It’s hard to get away from the Group One winner Kinross. His ideal conditions would likely come with a little soft in the going, but seven furlongs in a Group Two is right up his street. He started off this season in the Chipchase at Newcastle, the winner won last week’s Group One Sprint Cup.
He was last seen in the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood behind Group One winner Audience, who got first run and was hard to peg back, but Kinross is a former winner of this race and can take this again.
A lot of untapped potential on show, but the selection can come on again after just two runs. He stayed on well to take a course and distance maiden in June, with multiple subsequent winners in behind. He ran green in the Group Two Vintage Stakes at Goodwood but stayed on well from last place to take second spot behind Aomori City. The third was Cool Hoof Luke, who went on to win the Group Two Gimcrack at York last time out.
He’s out of Pinatubo, and his yard is going great guns at present, and with that form working out well, in a Grade he’s went close in, he’s taken to come out on top.
Plenty of class and graded form for the selection. He’s a three-time winner, and this five and half furlong trip suits him.
He’s worth an each-way play in an open race.
