Slow starts are becoming a bad habit for this filly, but she’s classy, and with a clean break it should see her go close. She had to make up plenty of ground last time out, and although last of the seven, she done well in the circumstances after forfeiting so much ground.

She ran sixth in a Queen Mary at Royal Ascot last season, before bolting up in a Class Two at Goodwood, and has since finished second to Big Evs in the Group Two Flying Childers, with the winner going on to win the Group One Breeders Cup Sprint, and is now favourite at Royal Ascot.

She’s second top rated in this, and gets the allowance, if she can break well enough then I expect her to win this.

Although it’s a tough mark, he could be a lot better than this.

He bolted up at Chester, travelling strongly and being eased at the line. He won it by four lengths, with the re-opposing Swindon well beat.

He was beaten less than a length on debut in a decent race, with the winner running second in a listed race. He was then second when sent off favourite on his second start, before that east Chester win.

He now goes handicapping, with his yard in-form, and his jockey ridding plenty of winners, Oisin for the treble!

This gelding is a frustrating maiden, but surely his turn is near. The maiden tag does not paint the true picture, as he was competing in very competitive races the last few seasons.

To reel off a few, he was second in a listed race to Group Two and Group One runner-up Naval Power. He was beaten just over two lengths by Silver Knott, a multiple Group Two winner. He was fourth in the Group One Futurity Stakes behind last years Derby Winner, Auguste Rodin, with King Of Steel in behind. He was also beaten three-lengths in a Group Three, and then fourth in another. He was then gelded, before returning with a solid sixth in a competitive 21 runner handicap at Newbury. And, his latest run produced a solid display at Chester when second behind the previous winner of that race.

He’s ready to take advantage, and the champ, Oisin Murphy is booked, so here’s hoping today is the day.
