A nice debut winner, he was impressive in beating Kikkuli second time up. That horse has won at Newmarket in the week to Frank that form. The third won at Doncaster on seasonal debut too.

He ended last season when booting up in a listed race on heavy over seven furlongs. He goes for a four-timer over the trip and will hopefully keep his perfect record intact.

Seventh in the Aintree Bumper, he beat good horses in Beat The Bat and Hoe Joly Smoke on hurdles debut. Second beaten a nose to Nicky Henderson’s Jinko Blue next time out at Newbury was a solid effort. He then ran fifth in the Grade One Challow, with Albert Bartlett runner-up the Jukebox Man in third that day.

He’s then won at long odds-on in a canter at Kempton last time out and comes here on a fair mark for handicap debut.

LONG SHOT:

Ayr – SALSADA

A big pot on offer, with plenty of the top yards fighting it out for the trainer's championship and a share of the prize money. But I like a big priced outsider in the shape of Salsada, who goes for the smaller yard of Brian Ellison, and looks ready to strike again.

She travelled well behind Brentford Hope at Newcastle off a two-pound higher mark two runs back, and without a few mistakes in the home straight, it would have seen her a lot closer. She has been second in a Grade Two before behind former Champion Hurdle winner Epatante. She was a good fifth in a strong running of this Scottish Champion Hurdle last season, behind solid horses in Rubaud and Colonel Mustard. She has also won on soft at Haydock when on the flat when with Jedd O’Keeffe, but has also won on good ground, which is probably preferred.

Last time out she was an eye-catcher when staying on strongly, she’s now lower in the weights than in last season's renewal and has Dylan Johnston taking off five pounds this time to help off this featherweight.
