Related to Gold Cup winner Courage Mon Ami, this Cracksman filly looked something special on her latest start. She dwelt on debut and was never at the races, but improved the step up in trio to be just denied on her second start.

But, she destroyed a field with ease on turf debut last time out at Wetherby. She won in a canter by 12 lengths eased down.

She’s rated higher than this field already and the step up in trip looks to bring about more improvement. She should take the beating.

The flat season may well be under way, but we get to see a Cheltenham Festival winner in the shape of Lark In The Morning.

He won a competitive Boodles Fred Winter with ease, form of which is working out well already. He’s now off an eight pound higher mark, but being a lightly-races four-year old gets in off a low weight for this.

He’s likely to prefer this better ground so conditions won’t be an issue, and this is a good pot to claim before targeting more prizes next jump season.

LONG SHOT:

Haydock - HARBOUR LAKE

He needs all of this trip, and I’m hoping he can land this Long Distance Handicap. He’s off a fair weight, and runs off a mark of 129.

He’s won off 130 in the past and touched 135, so although raised two pounds for a cracking effort last time out when second at Cheltenham, he still rates with potential for better.

He is often outpaced and not always in the right place to challenge when it comes to the business end. But, he finishes his races off well, and I hope he will be coming home best of all.
