Last season’s Group One Nunthorpe winner ran a huge race on seasonal return to go down by just half-a-length in the Group Two Temple Stakes. That run was on his unfavourable soft ground over course and distance, and this drop back in class, on his favoured quick ground, should see him back to winning ways.

He’s a group horse who’s running in a listed race, and worthy of the title of being the current favourite.

A very likeable type, who often gives his running, can hopefully banish a last time out fall, and go close in this. He ended up clipping heels and fell in a Group Two at York last time out, so needs to put that behind him, but he’s always shown class, and can show that turn of foot he must win back at seven furlongs, a trip he has won at in the past. He was beaten just over two lengths at Newmarket two runs back, in a race working out very well.

The winner was fourth in that York race that Tiber Flow fell in last time out, with the second having gone on to win that race, and the 10th going close in the same race to finishing second, franking the form. The fourth, Mitbaahy, won a Group Two at the Curragh last time out. The seventh ran second in a Group Three at Longchamp after that, with the sixth and seventh running huge races in a big field handicap at Ascot.

All in all, if recovered, then the consistent Tiber Flow should be finishing well to hopefully snatch the win.

Having been campaigned in listed races last season, the market could underestimate this last-time-out winner. She was taken out of a soft ground and a heavy ground race in her first season but seems to handle good to soft or quicker, so let’s hope the rain stays away!

Last season she ran a three-length third in a Listed race at York, with the winner following that race with a solid third behind Al Aasy in Group Three company. The selection was then a five-length fifth in the Galtres Stakes over the distance, having been denied a clear run. She comes here on the back of an easy Kempton win, giving weight to all bar one of the field.

That should have teed her up nicely for this, and with Ed Walker’s team going great guns at present, it adds another tick in the positives box for her.
