Second on debut to Cowardofthecounty on soft to heavy, this half a million Guineas Colt is by No Nay Never, and duly obliged second time up. He comfortably beat Arizona Blaze, who then franked the form winning a Group Three, beating Camille Pissarro and Midnight Strike.

This is his only entry of the week, but he holds big targets in the season. He is a warm order but has the potential to be top drawer.

He looked as if he just joined in at the furlong pole last time out, when powering away to win the competitive London Gold Cup at Newbury. As is normally the case, the race is working out well. This lightly raced colt was slowly away on debut, before winning second time out. He then was beaten by the re-opposing Bracken’s Laugh, who has franked the form strongly this season, but the selection now gets a six-pound swing in the weights for a head defeat.

He was emphatic on seasonal debut when stepped up in trip, to suggest there is plenty more under the bonnet. Lots to like.

Kyprios is a worthy favourite and a former winner of this race, but he’s a skinny price. I’m happy to row in each-way with Trawlerman. A winner of the Long Distance Cup at this course on Champions Day in October, when beating Kyprios, he rallied well that day to get back up and win the race. He’s a front runner, who may be hard to peg back if being able to dictate matters. He ran a solid race on return in Dubai, in a race that’s worked out well, and he’s had a break to freshen him up.

William Buick takes the ride, which only adds to the positives. He’s a solid each-way play in the race.
