RACING LEE'S GRAND NATIONAL TIP
Martin Brassil won the big race back in 2006 with Numbersixvalverde, I’m hoping he can repeat the feat with Panda Boy. He carries a low weight, and on this ground that will definitely help. He gets in off 146, and although he may lack the class of some of the top horses, he is likely to be primed and targeted at this race. He’s been freshened up having ran in a listed hurdle race last time out at the Dublin Racing Festival, where he stayed on well into fourth over nearly three mile-one. He gave 10 pounds away to Meetingofthewaters when second at Leopardstown at Christmas, he stayed on well to be second that day in the listed chase on soft going. He was fifth when travelled well in the Irish National behind I Am Maximus last season, only to peck and not recover.
But the signs are he has been ticking away under the radar, as for a horse who stays fine and will handle conditions, he maybe the overlooked one away from the higher weighted.
