Racing Lee's Cheltenham Festival Day 3 Tips
The beautifully bred Bighterdaysahead will take a world of beating. Some strong mates in contention, including Jade De Grugy and Dysart Enos but the selection oozes class.
She won easily over a longer trip last time out, but the stiffer new course, over two-mile-one will suit. She will be tanking and stay on best in my opinion.
Having started rules life behind Grade One winner Crambo, and Butch, in a bumper, he’s slowly built to become a nice horse. He easily won a couple of hurdle races at Newcastle and Sandown in his short stint hurdling. He then wasted no time being sent chasing. First time up he was sent off 3-1 favourite at Cheltenham, he fell when challenging two out, in a race won by Turners market leader, Ginny’s Destiny. He then ran sixth lengths-sixth in a Grade Two won by Ginny’s Destiny, with the runner-up being run away Grade Two Hampton Novice winner, Grey Dawning. The third, Trelawne, has franked the form after.
His latest run was a warm three runner contest. He won easily at the line, beating Tahmuras, who has since run a close second in the Grade Two Pendil. The third of three was the above mentioned, Trelawne, who was just beat in the Grade Two Towton Novices. The form stands out and he’s well handicapped judged on those runs. He needs luck in a race of this nature, but if getting that, he should go close.
The feature race on day three is the Stayers Hurdle. Teehupoo has been kept fresh, likes a bit juice in the ground and went close last year but, I think the overlooked maybe former Grand National winner, Noble Yeats.
He won the Cleeve Hurdle when only doing enough to beat Paisley Park, similar to what rival Crambo did at Ascot, but, I think he has more in the locker and can outrun his odds.
