Raceolly’s Saturday Racing Tips at Newmarket and Haydock
Timefall ran a massive race last time out in the six-furlong stakes race at the St Leger meeting at Doncaster. The drop in trip was not ideal as it turned out, but she finished strongly in a race that looked very strong on paper, finishing upside horses rated in the high 90s to 100.
Jouncy went into the notepad last time finishing a close second in a Group Two to one rated 20lbs higher off level weights. Got hampered and messed about at York before that which is well worth excusing and has taken huge step forwards every run. Bred to be well up to this, and the yard have an extremely good record with their two-year-olds here with 13 winners from 54 runners over the last 5 years, a 24%-win rate.
The ground turning up soft here will bring Flying Finn right into it with a big chance. They have form figures of 2-1-1-3 on ground soft to heavy and that third came in a listed race in France. They had excuses last, and this drop back to a mile looks the right move with the three-year-old allowance in the handicap very handy also, more interesting with the jockey claiming a further 3lb. Far too many ticks in the right boxes to ignore.
