Sandown –
GLENFINNAN

Glenfinnan was a winner over a mile as a two-year-old for Andrew Balding but since switching to Michael Dodds he’s been campaigned solely over six furlongs. Ran well in some hot races but has all the attributes to run well over seven in a race like this and the booking of Oisin Murphy is eye catching, he has a 22%-win rate for the yard (two wins from nine rides).

The yard rarely comes to Sandown these days with it being a near 600-mile round trip so it’s worth a check when they do.

NEXT BEST:

Chester –
WARRIOR BRAVE

Warrior Brave has a fitting name with his bold front running style perfect for a race like this at Chester. He’s drawn out wide but usually gets a good start and Franny Norton is no stranger to a front runner at Chester having built up a reputation as the best at the track.

Warrior Brave ran a huge race last time out at Naas running a horse rated 11lbs higher to half a length off level weights and beaten another higher rated when giving away weight. Looks primed for a big effort with conditions to suit.

LONG SHOT:

Sandown –
FLYING FRONTIER

Flying Frontier is nicely coming to the boil after a 269-day break before starting his season last month. He improved with every run last season finishing with a rating of 95 and had excuses on seasonal debut after the seven months off and the ground being much softer than ideal.

You can forgive a bad run last time when the race just didn’t go as planned and with that run scratched off, he’s hugely overpriced. Clifford Lee is worth a look when riding for the yard having won on seven of his 20 rides this year also.
