QPR boss Marti Cifuentes admitted Rangers were punished for a terrible start to the second half against Portsmouth in a 2-1 loss.

Cifuentes said, “It was a disappointing result and a disappointing performance. The start of the second half was bad and costly for us. Unfortunately, it took a little bit of time until we understood it was 2-0 and it was perhaps too late. But still after Jimmy's goal there could easily have been one or two more.”

Cifuentes made just one change to his starting line-up from the recent 4-0 thrashing of Derby. On-loan Tottenham youngster Yang Min-hyeok played a starring role in that game, having replaced Paul Smyth in the side, though Smyth was restored against Pompey, with South Korean Yang dropping to the bench.

Cifuentes explained the raucous atmosphere at Fratton Park and the home side’s aggressive style of play contributed to his selection process and a recall for Yang on Saturday is possible, especially with Koki Saito withdrawing early following a heavy facial knock. Karamoko Dembele is also an option following his return from injury.
