QPR slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat in midweek, losing 2-1 at Middlesbrough. Steve Cook reduced the deficit, but Rangers were unable to find an equaliser despite carving out chances in a match head coach Marti Cifuentes felt was an “equal, quite balanced game”.

Cifuentes said: “It was a game with good spells for both teams. We adjusted a couple of things at half-time and then it was about staying in the game to make sure we could capitalise on our chances – like the one Ken had in the first half. But unfortunately, we conceded a poor second goal where we should defend better.”

Ilias Chair went off shortly before the second goal after pulling up with what appeared to be a nasty hamstring injury. After cameos off the bench, Karamoko Dembele could be given a first start following his own return when Leeds arrive at Loftus Road.
