Punchestown Festival Tuesday Tips – Dan James Racing
Tuesday Tips at Punchestown – Dan James Racing
Ballyburn was very disappointing after going off odds on at Cheltenham, but I am keeping my faith with this top-class type. Paul keeps the ride which tells me this horse has returned from that Cheltenham race very well, albeit a poor effort on the day. Sitting in rear that day I can't see those tactics repeated. They will be ridden from the front, and I would be confident he can make all here. A change of tactics can get him back in the winner's enclosure.
The favourite is Fact to File, but I'm not convinced he has the pace to cope with this drop back in trip and I'm happy to take him on. Marine Nationale was so impressive at Cheltenham, and I strongly believe if she was trained by one of the big names, she would be odds on in this. Barry Connell is a top trainer, and he has campaigned this horse perfectly.
Marine is a much speedier horse than the favourite and this is the trainer's sole representative at Punchestown this week at the time of writing. One of only two rides for Sean Flanagan on Tuesday who is a very underrated jockey. Can beat the favourite here.
This is a competitive field, but this horse has done absolutely nothing wrong thus far winning five from five. Harry Derham sends two across the water for Tuesdays racing with the yard in flying form having hit a 36% strike rate in the last two weeks.
Jockey Paul O'Brien in flying form with a 38% strike rate in the past fortnight and this horse has a serious each way chance. Ground and trip will suit.
