North Macedonia have dominated UEFA Nations League Group C4 taking 10 points from a possible 12. The Lynxes have won their last three game without conceding including a 3-0 defeat of Latvia in Riga last month, extending their 100% record against their opponents here to four games. Blagoja Milevski’s men are also unbeaten in four games on home soil which does include visits from Italy and England.
In contrast the Latvians have failed to register a win in their last 10 on foreign soil, losing seven and conceding first in each of the last nine. North Macedonia will want to seal promotion in style by virtue of another win against a nation who still aren’t safe from an immediate return to Group D.
Spain have been in excellent form and have extended their unbeaten run to 14 internationals with three straight wins in Group A4. Victory in the reverse fixture meant La Roja have won seven of the last eight meetings between the two nations with a 1-1 draw in Copenhagen the only positive result for the Danes and that coming in 1995! Luis de la Fuente's side make the headlines for their exciting attacking talent but their position at the top of the table has been built on solid foundations. They have conceded just once across their four games and that coming in a 4-1 win against Switzerland.
Spain will look to continue the feelgood factor following their summer Euros triumph by clinching top spot with a win here. Denmark may have half an eye on the final group game which looks like a winner takes all clash with Serbia.
Romania will be promoted if they avoid defeat by Kosovo but I’m taking them to continue their strong recent form and move up to Group B in style. Mircea Lucescu’s men won the reverse 3-0 to inflict the Kosovan's only defeat in the competition. The Romanians shocked many at this summer’s Euros by topping a group that contained FIFA ranked world number 6 Belgium – only falling to another top 10 nation in the Netherlands at the round of 16 stage.
They have followed that up well by posting a 100% record in Group C2 with a goal difference of 11-2. Romania are ranked 58 places above the Kosovans and should take care of business here.
