QPR boss Marti Cifuentes insisted there is “no place for complacency” after overseeing a fifth successive home victory on Monday night. Rangers were 2-1 winners against Luton, moving the Super Hoops up to 13th in the Championship standings having lost just once in their last 11 matches and the Spaniard is eager to kick-on.

Cifuentes said, “We need to keep pushing. There is no place for complacency. There is no place for thinking that five wins in a row, we are all good. There are still things that we can improve and improve quite a lot. We know how quickly things can turn. It’s still January, let’s keep working and see if we can keep improving as a team.”

Morgan Fox’s fortuitous second-half goal gave Rangers the points against Luton with Michael Frey also on the scoresheet. With the FA Cup now on the agenda, Cifuentes could opt to rotate his team with the likes of Jack Colback being given minutes after his return from injury and new signing Ronnie Edwards potentially involved from the off.

Cup contests often see a lower cards per-game output compared to league dates and referee David Webb has a strong habit for card-shy totals when overseeing cup action. His last 20 cup assignments have returned the following counts: 0-1-1-1-0-8-3-0-3-2-1-3-2-0-1-0-5-1-1-1 meaning 18 of those 20 tussles saw Under 39.5 Booking Points collect.
