Irish NH Tips King George Day
This horse has always been a borderline Group One performer, and he comes here for his first start of the season. He's a former Group Two winner and if he comes here in anything like top form, I can't see him getting beat.
He's always just lacked a gear for a mile at the top level and this really appeals to me as his trip. Tom Marquand knows him well and this son of Iffraaj should take all the beating!
A prolific two-year-old last year including a win at the Breeders Cup. He's had a good start to his season winning at York on seasonal debut before a good third beaten just a length and a half at Ascot last time.
This is a track that suits him well and coming here fresh from Ascot will stand him in good stead. It looks to me to be shaping up to get a big afternoon for the man on board Tom Marquand.
A mile and a quarter winner on the all-weather at Lingfield in December. He has two solid turf runs this season over the same trip but this step up to a mile and three furlongs plus looks a good move to me.
He was beaten just over two lengths last time in a much stronger race at Newmarket at this drop back in class is also a plus. If the step up in trip has the desired effect, then from a nice draw in stall four, he has to go close.
