Day 2 Tips
This son of Galileo is the reigning and defending undisputed King of the Stayers and the only rival to the great Yeats for the best stayer I've seen. He's a striking chestnut colt who has really roared back this season regaining his crown after a season totally scuppered by injury last season. He's looked as good as ever at the age of six brushing aside all challengers to his crown and I have no doubt he will do so again on Sunday. 10/11 looks very generous to me and I can't see a way he gets beaten.
He has pace and stamina, and he only ever does enough and keeps pulling out more. He's bomb proof and not to be opposed.
This filly has been a model of consistency in top level sprints all season and has danced every dance along the way from her two huge runs on the week of Royal Ascot to her impressive victory in the Sapphire Stakes over course and distance in July before another big run at Glorious Goodwood and most recently in the Nunthorpe at York when she was just caught on the wrong side of the track.
Ryan Moore being booked again is a massive plus and I think the stiff five-furlong trip here at the Curragh is right up her street. If she is to win a Group One sprint, she won't get many better opportunities than this and I'm all in!
Now for a filly that has had my support on multiple occasions in her career to date and I'm not deserting her yet. This daughter of Harzand has ran very well in a couple of classics; the Oaks at Epsom and the Curragh without making the frame and this is a drop in class for her as well as a drop in trip and I think ten furlongs is her trip.
Any softening of the ground by the rain that's due Saturday night will be a help and I fancy her to reverse form with Purple Lily and Elizabeth Jane from the Irish Oaks over this trip. At the prices she represents plenty value, and I believe she will go very close.
