Grand National NAP – Irish NH Tips
This horse ran second in this race a couple of seasons ago off this very mark. He lost his form last season, just never really firing, but so far in 2025 he has looked right back to his best. He was a runaway winner of a cross-country race at Punchestown before running a stormer in the cross-country at Cheltenham when Sean Flanagan very nearly took the wrong course, and he dropped from first to last and lost all chance of winning. He stayed on up the hill that day from miles out of his ground leaving me with the feeling had Flanagan not made such a poor error early on he would have taken a serious beating.
He's a horse who is not just an out and out stayer but also has a touch of class being a former Grade 1 winner over hurdles as a novice. He's a real solid horse and though he's probably at his best on deep ground he handles nice ground perfectly fine and everything here points to him running a big race off a beautiful racing weight. Here's hoping he can run well.
