Luton vs Middlesbrough – Luton to win

Luton have given themselves a shot at survival with two wins in their last three games, a 2-0 home victory over Portsmouth and midweek’s 2-1 triumph at relegation rivals Cardiff, who they’re now just a point off.

Those results should do wonders for the confidence of Matt Bloomfield’s side, who have looked wasteful and error-prone all season off the back of their Premier League relegation, so getting that winning feeling back at Kenilworth Road is crucial for the run in.

Visitors Middlesbrough still have a shot at the Play-Offs, after moving within three points of 6th-placed Coventry with three wins in their last four, culminating in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over QPR.

However, the Boro are chronically inconsistent and unreliable, despite being extremely capable at their best, and the culture Michael Carrick has fostered could struggle with doing the business at what will be a cauldron of opposition noise in Bedfordshire.

Huddersfield vs Crawley – Huddersfield to win

Huddersfield sacked head coach Michael Duff, after a run of four defeats in five, and no home goals in six, saw the Terriers drop out of the Play-Off places.

Duff can consider himself hard done by not to be part of the rebuild in the summer, when there will be far more players out of contract than there were in 2024 and having had to deal with a double-figured injury-list for much of the season, creating further imbalances in the squad.

Putting Jon Worthington in charge, given his popularity with supporters, might boost the Terriers’ chances of knocking a few goals past Crawley on Saturday – even if the overall strategy is more in question.

The visitors have accrued just one point from their last five league games and have conceded the most goals in the division, shipping 66 in 36 matches, so Rob Elliott’s possession-based side are probably the ideal outfit for Huddersfield to face and address their goalscoring troubles.

Morecambe vs Barrow – Morecambe to win

Sat 15 Mar, 15:00

BET NOW

Morecambe’s victory over AFC Wimbledon the Tuesday before last shows Derek Adams’ side are still very much alive and kicking in League Two, despite their chances of survival looking thin.

The Shrimps are only four points off Tranmere, but they’ve drastically improved under Andy Crosby, and the next-nearest relegation rivals are Accrington Stanley and Harrogate, 10 and 11 points better off respectively – although they host the latter on the final day.

The Lancashire outfit haven’t been cut open very often this season, though, suffering as many as 12 defeats by a single goal, and in many of those games they’ve been unlucky not to earn a point, or even win 1-0 instead of the opposition.

Morecambe might, though, beat local rivals Barrow, who have secured their own EFL status with back-to-back wins over Notts County and Accrington Stanley, and can look ahead to a sizeable rebuild under Andy Whing.
