Portsmouth vs Blackburn Rovers – Portsmouth to win

Portsmouth’s impeccable home form has been crucial to their steady rise from being prime relegation candidates, to the relative safety of 17th, although they still have points to tick off to secure a second season in the Championship.

Since early November, Pompey have accrued a whopping 29 points from 13 games at Fratton Park; they lost to Millwall and were subject to a 2-1 smash-and-grab by Plymouth Argyle, drew with promotion contenders Burnley and Sunderland, and won nine others – only Leeds have accrued more home points in that period.

Visitors Blackburn have lost 10 of their 19 away league games this season, the Play-Off outsiders have also been out of form since John Eustace left, to be replaced by Valerien Ismael, taking just one point from the last five league games.

So, the value looks with the hosts, who have one of the better wide men in the division in Josh Murphy, who has six goals to his name and 10 assists.

Wycombe vs Lincoln – Wycombe to win

Wycombe’s loss of manager Matt Bloomfield might have impacted their consistency at the top of League One, but they can still do the business against lesser and midtable sides.

Since the stalwart departed Adams Park, Wanderers have accrued 20 points from 10 games against opponents outside the top 10, whereas it’s the defeats to the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham that have really hurt their bid for second.

Given that we’re at a stage of the season in which it’s arguably preferable to host a midtable side to one still with real skin in the game at the bottom, Saturday’s hosting of Lincoln City looks kind on paper, with the Imps having accrued just three more points than Crawley across 25 games since the start of November.

Michael Skubala’s side are feeling the losses of Lukas Jensen, Alex Mitchell and Joe Taylor, they’re suffering from key midfielder Ethan Erhahon’s form dropping incrementally, while the style they enjoyed last season has dissipated this term.

Accrington Stanley vs Bradford – Bradford to win

Any concerns that form side Bradford may have had after back-to-back defeats, and injuries to key players, have been quelled on both counts: Graham Alexander’s side thumped Play-Off runners Colchester 4-1 on Saturday, and saw returns for attacking midfielders Bobby Pointon and Alex Pattison sooner than expected.

Tyreik Wright was favoured in attack, alongside Calum Kavanagh, and the speedy, versatile forward did an excellent job, along with wing-backs Brad Halliday and Tayo Adaramola – the latter, on loan from Crystal Palace – looks far too good for League Two.

Hosts Accrington Stanley took a huge step towards retaining their EFL status with a 5-0 thumping of Newport, which preceded successive draws with Gillingham and Swindon.

However, John Doolan’s side have taken just one point from their last five meetings with top seven opposition, which suggests they don’t quite have the quality to compete with the best teams in the league.
