A course bumper winner, he was third in a Llsted bumper here to a recent hurdle winner, Let It Rain. He defied a penalty to follow up and then bolted up last time out on hurdles debut at Wincanton. He jumped well and powered away by 14 lengths.
He looks a nice type and hopefully can take the step up in trip in his stride.
The mare gets the weight for sex allowance, and first time hurdling she looks competitive. She’s a three-mile point-to-point winner, and won a Llsted Sandown bumper on rules debut, beating Rula Bula, who has bolted up over hurdles since.
They were well strung out in that race, and she was pitched into the Grade Two Aintree bumper after, where the form looked strong and plenty of winners coming out of the race. This includes stablemate Listentoyourheart, who has won with ease over hurdles last time out, but Harry Skelton rode the selection on that occasion, an indication of what they think of her.
Low on numbers, but a competitive race on paper, I’m hoping the mare can win at the first time of asking over hurdles.
Bad was good on chase debut, and although he wasn’t as classy over hurdles, he still had strong form. His course record reads 63322, with a length second last time out when sent chasing, he showed enough grit to think he can still get stuck in and win this.
He gets plenty of weight, and that swings things in his favour for his in-form team.
