This son of Walk In The Park is a former point to point winner for Colin Bowe before moving to Jonjo O'Neill. He's had seven starts on the track to date and he has acquitted himself well enough this season until he stepped up to two and a half miles plus at Ascot last time where his form looked sure to take a big step forward only for taking a fall two out.
He gets almost identical conditions here and a reproduction of that form should see him very difficult to beat here especially in receipt of weight from his main market rival.
This horse was a very impressive winner on chase debut at Taunton and comes here in a rich vein of form as well being the horse with the most potential. Many of his rivals here are either past their best or are thoroughly exposed. With nice career starts to date he has won a hurdle and a chase as well as placing on no less than four other occasions from his nine runs to date.
David Maxwell will be in the saddle which to many will be a major negative, but he knows the horse well and he the horse really suits David's style of riding. I genuinely believe this could be a case where he could gallop his rivals into the ground before going on to much bigger and better things. He rates a very strong bet.
This son of Maxios was at one point considered possibly the best novice hurdler in Britain a couple of seasons ago and while he never really showed that potential again on the track since a Carlisle romp in February 2023. That is still the only time in his career where he raced over two and a half miles until now and I think it really suited him.
He's a big imposing type who hopefully will jump and fence at some point in his career but for now this step up in trip looks a positive move and I find it very hard to envisage a situation where he doesn't run well. Here's hoping for a big run.
