7/1 fourfold on Sunderland vs Newcastle and other FA Cup specials

The Premier League takes a backseat this weekend as attention turns to the FA Cup Third Round, the world’s most famous cup competition.

Here’s an FA Cup fourfold that returns at 7/1 ACCA

One of the standout ties in the Third Round sees Sunderland and Newcastle meet in the first Tyne-Wear derby since March 2016.

Remarkably, Newcastle haven’t beaten their fierce rivals in any of their last nine meetings. You have to go back to August 2011 for the last time they tasted success in this fixture. And whilst Eddie Howe’s side are a division higher than their opponents, there will be some Newcastle fans approaching this game with a degree of trepidation.

The Magpies’ away form this season has been disappointing to say the least. Howe’s side have won just two of their 15 matches on the road in all competitions so far this campaign, form that has seen them tumble out of the Champions League and slide down the Premier League table.

Sunderland’s results this season have been inconsistent with the Black Cats currently 6th in the Championship but having lost as many games as 16th place Swansea City.

Whilst form tends to go out the window in derby matches, both teams have goals in them and it promises to be a high scoring affair at the Stadium of Light.

Manchester City vs Huddersfield Town

Back Manchester City to win with a -3 handicap

Two sides with very different ambitions meet at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The hosts Manchester City are looking to replicate their incredible achievements of last season when they pulled out an historic treble. The visitors Huddersfield Town are looking to keep their heads just about above water in the Championship where they are perilously close to the drop zone.

With just one win in their last eight games, confidence will not be high amongst The Terriers squad and even with Pep Guardiola expected to make a number of changes, the FA Cup holders will have far too much for their struggling opponents.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Back Arsenal to win

These two sides met a little over two weeks ago in the Premier League, playing out a 1-1 draw at Anfield. They meet again in the league at the start of February by which time they’ll be sick of the sight of each other.

That point on Merseyside was the last that Arsenal have picked up, with the Gunners losing both of their subsequents matches against West Ham and Fulham. Indeed Mikel Arteta’s side have won just one of their last six games in all competitions and will be desperate to get back to winning ways. Liverpool will be without their star man Mohamed Salah, and with a Carabao Cup Semi Final against Fulham to follow just three days after this match, Jurgen Klopp may choose to rotate his squad for the trip to the Emirates.

With Arsenal in need of a positive result to kickstart their year, the North Londoners may want this one more than their opponents and we’re backing them to sneak the win.

Wigan Athletic vs Manchester United

Back Manchester United to win

Every time Manchester United look to be turning the corner this season, they throw in a disastrous performance and the spotlight once again turns on their manager, Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils produced a solid display when drawing 0-0 at Liverpool last month but then immediately followed it with a limp defeat at West Ham. A stirring comeback from two goals down to beat Aston Villa suggested better things to come but instead another woeful performance followed when being beaten by Nottingham Forest.

United will be expected to see of their League One opponents Wigan on Monday night and with the Latics struggling for any form of their own, ten Hag’s men should do enough to put themselves in the hat for the fourth round.
