Germany's form over the last 18 months has been inconsistent at best but it's worth remembering that as this summer's hosts, the majority of their fixtures have been friendlies and when it comes to the competitive event, we fully expect the Germans to switch up through the gears.

With in-form players like Niclas Fullkrug, Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz, Germany will pose all sorts of problems for Scotland and Steve Clarke's men have lost a little of their own spark since securing qualifying back in September of last year. The Scots have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions and that was against the minnows that are Gibraltar.

Germany are heavy favourites to open with a win and we can't see anything other than a victory for Julian Nagelsmann's side.

The last time these two nations met in the European Championships we were treated to an incredible spectacle. Spain ultimately emerged victorious after extra time in a 5-3 thriller in 2022. If this Saturday's fixture produces even half the entertainment then we're in for a treat.

This time around, Spain come into Euro 2024 having scored 30 goals in their last nine games in all competitions. While Croatia scored in seven of their eight qualifying matches for this summer's tournament.

In a competitive looking group that also includes Italy, getting off to a winning start could be massive for both of these teams and that should lend itself to an attacking game.

Italy come into this match as big favourites and will face an Albania side who have failed to score in three of their last four outings.

When you consider that the Italians have kept three clean sheets in their last four games as well, it looks increasingly likely that the Albanians may draw a blank in this one. At a shade under even money, Italy to win to nil looks good value for your accumulators.

England are unbeaten in their eight competitive matches since losing in the Quarter Finals of the 2022 World Cup to France. Gareth Southgate's side have won seven of those games, beating the likes of Italy home and away in the process.

Serbia had some standout results in qualifying but have stuttered of late, winning just one of their last five games. With Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic in attack, they have the weapons to hurt England but ultimately it would be a surprise if the Three Lions didn't come out on top in this one.
