GALOPIN DES CHAMPS

The dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, Galopin Des Champs, will try to turn the form of this race last season around with Fastorslow, who unseated in the Gold Cup. Fastorslow has four-and-a-half lengths to make up on Galopin Des Champs from the Dublin Racing Festival, though.

The runaway Grand National winner, I AM MAXIMUS, was a long way back in third that day. Impressive in winning a second Gold Cup, the selection had Grade 1 Aintree winner well beat in second.

He should take some beating this time around!

The choice of Rachael Blackmore from the Henry De Bromhead runners, Lets Go Champ gets in here off a mark of 131, and 10st-5lb. Lightly raced, his first run was behind American Mike and dual Grade 1 winner, Fact To File.

Second time chasing he bumped into Embassy Gardens, the National Hunt Chase runner-up. He was sent handicapping for his third chase start last time out, staying on well into third, beaten less than two lengths of this unchanged mark.

I expect him to go well for his in-form yard.

LONG SHOT:

THE YELLOW CLAY

An easy debut win seen him carry a penalty in his second bumper run, but that showed to be no obstacle, as he took a listed race easily. He was pitched into a hot Grade 2 bumper last time out at the Dublin Racing Festival.

He travelled well, but got into traffic problems off the final bend, losing at least five lengths in the process and almost clipping heels. He stumbled but recovered to stay on eye-catching to run on for fourth. He then ran a respectable race in the Champion Bumper, and the first two from that race, along with the exciting William Munny take their chance in a competitive field, but I’m hoping at a huge price that The Yellow Clay can run into a place at least.

He’s the each-way play of the day.
